La vida diaria en presente
Al terminar podrás describir rutinas con la -s de la tercera persona, usar do / does en preguntas, negaciones y question tags, y ubicar los adverbios de frecuencia.
El presente simple sirve para rutinas, hábitos y hechos: I study every day. Con he, she, it, o con un sujeto que equivale a ellos (my mom, each episode, the bus), el verbo lleva -s: she works, it lasts. Reglas de escritura:
| Forma | I / you / we / they | he / she / it |
|---|---|---|
| Afirmativa | They live in Pasto. | She lives in Pasto. |
| Negativa | They don’t live in Pasto. | She doesn’t live in Pasto. |
| Pregunta | Do they live in Pasto? | Does she live in Pasto? |
Con do, does, don’t y doesn’t el verbo queda en forma base: Does she live…?, no Does she lives…?
Los adverbios de frecuencia (always, usually, often, sometimes, never) van antes del verbo principal (He always gets up at six), pero después de be (He is always late). Para preguntar la frecuencia se usa How often…?, y se responde con every day, once a week, twice a month.
En una question tag se repite el auxiliar con la polaridad contraria y un pronombre: She works here, doesn’t she? You don’t eat meat, do you?
Completa el mensaje con la opción correcta.
“My cousin Tatiana (1) ___ [study / studies / studying] nursing in Bucaramanga. She (2) ___ [goes always / always goes / always go] to the hospital at six in the morning. She doesn’t (3) ___ [has / have / having] much free time, but she loves her career. You know her, (4) ___ [don’t you / doesn’t you / aren’t you]?”
Espacio (3): después de doesn’t el verbo va en forma base, sin -s: She doesn’t have much free time.
Espacio (4): You know her es afirmativa y está en presente simple con you, así que la question tag lleva el auxiliar do en negativo y el pronombre you: don’t you?
(1) studies, (2) always goes, (3) have, (4) don’t you.
Ejercicio 1
Complete the question: “___ your sister ___ in Medellín?”
Ejercicio 2
Complete the sentence: “Your school starts at 6:30, ___?”
Olvidar la -s con he, she o it: My mother work in a bank.
My mother works in a bank. Cuenta como she o it cualquier sujeto singular: each class lasts, the bus leaves.
Poner la -s dos veces: Does she lives near here? o She doesn’t lives here.
Does y doesn’t ya llevan la marca: Does she live near here? She doesn’t live here.
Ubicar el adverbio como en español: I go always to the gym.
Va antes del verbo principal: I always go to the gym; con be, después: I am always tired.
Con he, she, it el verbo lleva -s: works, watches, studies, has.
Las preguntas y negaciones usan do o does + verbo base: Does he play? He doesn’t play.
Always, usually y never van antes del verbo principal y después de be; How often…? pregunta la frecuencia.
